networks of circular economy villages
a blueprint for regenerative rural communities
the next evolution for human settlements offering both collective ownership and lifestyle-as-a-service
Our mission is to facilitate the planning, design and construction of a network of tech-enabled, regenerative villages that strive towards self-sufficiency and zero waste within their bioregion. Each village will house a diverse but discrete community, integrating affordable living and work spaces with a renewable energy micro-grid, a water micro-grid and a regenerative agricultural system.

The design of each village will be tailored to local conditions including geography, climate, and ecology, with contributions from the community of future residents. This adopts an Indigenous perspective whereby the primary objective is to regenerate the land and create natural abundance, building ecosystem capacity to sustain a population of people.
design each village to efficiently deliver basic necessities for everyone
-
energy
A renewable energy micro-grid harvests, stores and distributes energy throughout the precinct, providing electricity for homes and workspaces, cycling water and powering a fleet of shared electric vehicles.
-
water
A natural water cycle management system harvests water from the environment, stores it in a chain of ponds, cleans it in constructed wetlands and distributes it throughout the precinct. Water is used for drinking, irrigation, aquaculture, leisure, as well as potentially storing energy.
-
food
A diverse, regenerative agricultural system provides a large proportion of the residents’ food needs. No waste from packaging, warehousing and transporting food over long distances. Regenerate ecosystems by composting and recycling organics.
-
housing
Find your balance between privacy and shared living in a wide range of living, working, eduction and leisure spaces. Private living spaces available for all age groups and household structures. Use the concierge app to book the shared spaces or facilities as you need them.

“Steven Liaros and Nilmini De Silva of PolisPlan have developed a compelling blueprint for a new urban form that is not just sustainable but regenerative in its ambitions. Their inspiring vision is to create a template for ‘best practice’ urban development, one that is highly self-sufficient in meeting community needs within the local bioregion; one that contributes to the local economy; and one that draws on renewable energy technologies with the aim of moving toward a flourishing, zero-waste, and post-carbon urban form. Most importantly, the ambition is to demonstrate the replicability of the plan and thereby provide guidance for future urban planning. The thinking beneath this vision is impressive and the plans meticulously formed. At last there is a development plan worth believing in and supporting. I look forward to the prospect of working with Steven and Nilmini as this vision becomes a reality – and together show, through research, innovation, and development, that urban living does not have to cost the Earth.”
